Answer: Yeah.....first let us know about diamond.

All carbons in diamond are sp3 hybridized and tetrahedral structure.It has high melting point and it is a poor conductor of electricity

Uses :

  • it is used in jewelry
  • used to make filaments of tungsten in light bulbs
  • also used to remove cataract in eyes by surgeons

Now about graphite..

All carbon atoms are sp2 hybridized and forms hexagonal rings in layers.It has low density and low electrical conductivity.

Uses :

  • widely used in lead pencils
  • used in nuclear reactors and moderators.
