alimentary canal is provided in humans for the process of digestion . the alimentary canal contain following organs :-
1) mouth
2) buccal cavity
3) pharynx
4) Oesophagus
5) stomach
6) small intestine
7) large intestine
the alimentary canal starts from mouth and ends on anus.
mouth :- it is the upper opening of alimentary canal which gives passage for ingestion of food.
buccal cavity :- mouth opens in a cavity called buccal cavity. it contains salivary glands and teeth.
pharynx :- it gives passage for food to oesophagus.
oesophagus :- it attaches the pharynx and stomach.
stomach :- in stomach HCl is produced to digest food partially . it makes food acidic . our stomach is protected from mucus layer.
small intestine :- through bile juice and pancreatic juice food is converted in basic medium . the partially digested food contain vitamins which are absorbed by villi ( finger like projections ) .
large intestine :- this gives passage for remaining food from small intestine to rectum which leads to anus.

HUMAN ALIMENTARY CANAL HELPS IN THE DIGESTION OF FOOD.
THE MAIN ORGANS OF IT ARE-
MOUTH [BUCCAL CAVITY]-HERE THE PHYSICAL DIGESTION OF FOOD STARTS WITH THE HELP OF TONGUE, TEETH AND SALIVA.
IT HAS SALIVARY AMAYLASE WHICH MAKES THE FOOD WATERY AND EMLSIFY CARBOHYDRATES INTO SIMPLE SUGAR
OESOPHAGUS--IT PASSES THE FOOD BY PERISTALATIC MOVEMENT FROM BUCCAL CAVITY TO SMALL INTESINE
STOMACH-STOMACH WALL CONTAINS TUBULAR GLANDS IN ITS WALLS WHICH SECRETE GASTRY JUICES--HCL,PEPSIN AND MUCUS
SMALL INTESTINE--IT HELPS IN THE COMPLETE DIGESTION OF FOOD.IT IS 6.5 M LONG
ALSO IT RECIEVES THE SECRETION OF 2 GLANDS--LIVER AND PANCREAS
LARGE INTESTINE-THE UNDIGESTED FOOD FROM SMALL INTESTINE PASES TOLARGE INTESTINE WHICH ABSORBS WATER FROM THE FOOD
RECTUM -IT STORES UNDIGESTED FOOD FOR SOMETIME
ANUS-THE UNDIGESTED FOOD IS REMOVED OUT THROUGH ANUS AS FAECES
IT ALSO COMPRISES GLANDS LIKE---
SALIAVARY GLAND
LIVER
PANCREAS
