In solids the molecular space is less or almost no space. In other words the particles are closed and packed.

In liquids the molecular space is medium and have space more than solids

But in gases the molecular space is more than other states such that we cannot see the gas

This is because of the kinetic energy and the molecular attraction of the particles is why liquids, solids and gases have varying arrangement of particles
