In the story The Adventure of Toto, the author’s grandfather is a retired person and living on his pension. He loves animals. Being an animal lover he has a mini zoo where many kinds of animals lives together. He is so much passionate that he never mind to buy a baby monkey from a Tangwala. The baby monkey TOTO is very cute and mischievous. The grandfather likes him. But, due to his wife’s disliking for animals, he kept Toto hidden from her for few days. At the first look, she seems unkind toward animal. But she is also a kind woman. It reveals later in the story. The grandfather bears many loss caused by Toto. As he is a pensioner, he can not manage much financial loss as he has a family to run.. So, finally, he returns Toto to his earlier master. In fact, he is not happy to do. He is very kind, sensitive and careful for animals as well as his family.
