The injured tissue and platelets at the site of the wound release a substance Thromvokinase which acts as an enzyme and withghr help of calcium ions present in plasma it converts a substance prothrombin of plasma into thrombin(active) this Thrombin reacts with fibrogen of plasma and convert into insoluble fibrin. These microscopic threads are sticky and form a network mesh at the wound blood cells are traped in the network and hence blood stops coming out. Blood clotting us done to prevent further loss is blood.
