a. The convict uttered these words when the Bishop offered him to stay at his home.
b. The convict could not face Bishop anymore as even after so much of care and love shown by Bishop, he stole his precious belonging and even after being caught, he was saved by the cops as he was described as a 'friend' of Bishop
c. 'Lost' in the above extract means that the convict could easily escape from the cops and they would not be able to catch him there
