Land Breeze: Land is a bad conductor and a good radiator of heat. Therefore, it heats quickly during the day and cools rapidly at night. During the night, since the land cools rapidly, land breeze blows from the land to the oceans.

Sea Breeze: On the contrary, water takes a longer time to get heated and loses heat slowly during the night. The sea which is cooler during the day time, gives rise to thesea breeze which blows from the sea to the land.

..............OR................

The wind will blow from the higher pressure over the water to lower pressure over the land causing the sea breeze. The sea breeze strength will vary depending on the temperature difference between the land and the ocean. At night, the roles reverse. The air over the ocean is now warmer than the air over the land.

hope it helped you out

Answer:

  • Breeze refers to the light and cool winds.
  • There are two different sorts of breeze:
  1. Land breeze
  2. Sea breeze

Land breeze:

  • The wind blowing from the land to the sea is known as a land breeze. It occurs during night.
  • Land serves as a good heat radiator while acting as a poor heat conductor.
  • As there is no sun to heat the surrounding air and sea surface at night, the land cools down more quickly than it does during the day.
  • Water bodies have a greater ability to hold onto heat than land does, which results in the air above them having a lower density.
  • As a result, high pressure forms over land, whereas low pressure forms above water.
  • As the winds shift from high pressure to low pressure zones, the thick air above the ground moves from land to space above sea.

Sea breeze:

  • The wind moving from the sea to the land is referred to as sea breeze. It occurs during day.
  • Sea breeze is caused by the uneven heating of land and water, which happens during the day when the land surface warms up more quickly than the sea surface, resulting in relatively warmer air above the land than the ocean.
  • Warmer air is lighter than colder air, thus it rises, which means that the warmer air present on land is moving toweads the sea, while the cooler air from the sea is moving towards the land surface and occupying the place of the warmer air.
