Central Government Defined. The central government is the political authority that governs an entire nation. The United States is a federal system of government in which power is shared between the central (sometimes referred to as national or federal) government and state governments.

The union government or India's central government  is divided into three distinct but interrelated branches: 

>Legislative-It consist of Parliament of India, headed by the President and constitutes Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

>Executive-It consists of the president, vice president, and a Council of Ministers, led by the prime minister.

>Judicial-It is independent of the Executive and constitutes Suprem
