Indus River Estuary (IRE) is situated in Sindh province of Pakistan (Fig. 1), where the river drains flood water into the northern Arabian Sea through the Khobar Creek. Supply of freshwater to the estuary is regulated at the Kotri Barrage that is situated about 118 km upstream of the estuary head.
