three types of meristematic tissue are:-

1. Apical meristems :- these are situated at the growing tips of stems and roots .

2. Lateral meristems :- they occur in thin layers.

3. Intercalary meristems :- they located at the base of leaves.

Functions :-

1. meristematic tissue acts as a parent tissue from which other tissue develop .

2. these tissues take part in growth by formation of cells.
