Describe the difficulties faced by people in non democracy

A democracy allows certain freedoms to its people like freedom of speech, expression,action etc. Dissent is allowed and tolerated to a certain level. In non democratic (autocracies and dictatorships) these are not possible.Free discussion on state matters are not allowed and the rule of law (if any) are ruthlessly implemented, without any concern for natural justice. Only drawback in a democratic set up is that there is more discussion and protests than decisions and decision making is unduly delayed or prolonged, resulting in waste of time, cost escalation and delay in reaping the benefit of the proposed mprovements
