hyy...In  Palampur,  there  are  a  total  of  450  families.  In  this  450  families,  150  families  belong  to  lower  castes  such  as  the  dalits  and  do  not  own  many  land.  Sometimes,  these  people  will  not  have  any  land,  and,  will  become  landless  labourers.  In  the  next  300  families,  240  are  small  farmers  while  the  other  60  are  large  farmers.  They  own  majority  of  the  land , ie,  75  percentage  ,  in  Palampur...

hope this helps !☺

Not all people engaged in agricultural have sufficient land in Palampur:
• 1/3 rd of 450 families are landless – 150 families.
• Most of them are dalits and have no land for cultivation.
• Of remaining 240 families who oven land, cultivate very small plots – less than 2 hectares.
• 60 families of medium and large farmers cultivate more than 2 hectares of land.
• Few large farmer have landholdings of over 10 hectares or more.
