The Amazon Basin is the largest drainage basin on the planet Earth. It stretches across the equator covering an area of 7050,000 square km. The drainage basin is drained by the River Amazon and it's tributaries. The main tributary is the Maranon River , while some others are the Japura , Rio Negro , Ucayali , Purus , Madeira , Tapajos and Xingu.
