Describe the effect of removing the tips on the growth of onion and beetroot seedling

at the tips of the onion and beetroot seedlings there is apical Meristem that helps in growth plant height wise .so by removing the tip that is the apical Meristem the growth of onion and beetroot Seedling is stopped
