Because of a specific intrigue the Generals of the army did not partake in the war. The British struck back and assaulted Punjab and attached about portion of it. The flexibility adoring Sikhs didn't like it thus revolted against British. The revolt was effortlessly squashed and Punjab was completely annexed.
