hey,

These structures can fill most of the interior of a cell, giving the membrane a very large surface area and therefore increasing the amount of light that the bacteria can absorb. In plants and algae, photosynthesis takes place in organelles called chloroplasts

hope it helps.......

Factors affecting photosynthesis are

1. Light intensity and carbon dioxide concentration - With an increase in light intensity and carbon dioxide concentration, the rate of photosynthesis increases up to a certain level after which it gets stabilized. If the carbon dioxide concentration is increased further(0.05%), the rate of photosynthesis increases and gets stabilized again.

2. Water content - With a decrease in the water content of the leaves, the rate of photosynthesis also decreases.

3. Temperature - Photsynthesis increases with increase in the temperature up to 40 degrees. If the temperature increases by 10 degrees, then the rate of photosynthesis is doubled.

Photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts of a plant cell.
