The first between kabuliwala and narrator's daughter mini was not very comfortable for mini .Mini called him by his name .mini was very much afraid and she hid somewhere in her home after seeing his look.Kabuliwala smiled and gave him packets of resins and capricots . To overcome his fear she came in front holding tightly the narrator .

when munni meet to kabuliwala then she was near about five years old and she was energetic, lovable little girl  she manages to win the heart of kabuliwala  who is the fruit seller from the kabul .munni overcomes her intial shyness with kabuliwala' generous friendship offering nuts and almonds. the two became great friends, sharing jokes and engaging in what muni's father terms as fascinating conversation ;
