Hey dearie,

Talking about fluid mosaic model of plasma membrane, it was discovered by S.J Singer and G.L Nicholson in 1972
it is the widely accepted model of plasma membrane
according to this model, The quai fluid nature of lipid enable lateral movement of protein within the overall bilayer, this ability to move in the membrane is measured as its fluidity

The proteins are not fixed within the lipid bilayer but are free to move like ice bergs floating in the sea of lipids

Plasma membrane contain, one polar head and two non polar tail

The fluid mosaic model describes the structure of the plasma membrane as a Mosaic of components - including Phospholipids , Cholesterol , Proteins and Carbohydrates that give the membrane a fluid character .
