power of accomodation:Power of accommodation is the ability of the eye lens to focus near and far objects clearly on the retina by adjusting its focal length. Power of accommodation of the eye is limited. It implies the focal length of the eye lens cannot be reduced beyond certain minimum limit.

range of vision:The range of vision of a person is the distance between near point (N) and far point (F) of his eyes. ... The most distant point at which an object can be seen clearly is called far point (F) of the eye.

Power of Accommodation

The Ciliary muscle contract and relax to change the focal length of the eye lens so that the sharp image is formed on retina. This process is known as Power of Accommodation.

Range of Vision

Range of distance over which the eye can see clearly is called its range of Vision. The Range of vision of normal human eye is from infinity to the least distinct of distance vision.

Retina has many light sensitive cells. These cells are of the two types :-

  • Rods
  • Cons

Rods - These cells response to the intensity of light that is the degree of brightness or darkness.

Cons - These cells are insensitive to the light and it also forms Blind spot in human eye.

Persistence of Vision

The Image of an object remains at the retina for \red{\bold{\frac{1}{16}^{th}}} of second , even after the object has removed from the the Line of vision. This phenomena is known as persistence of vision
