1) The Election Commission of India is an autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering election processes in India.
2) The body administerselections to the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, state Legislative Assemblies inIndia, and the offices of the President and Vice President in the country.
3) Prepare electoral rolls for the purpose of elections to the office of President and to Parliament.
4) The Election Commission shall perform such functions, in addition to those specified in the foregoing clauses, as may be prescribed by this Constitution or by any other law.
