Wave walker refers to the ship made by James cook in ‘Hornbill- we are not afraid to die, if we can all be together’. When the family is undertaking a voyage around the world in their ship, they face many turbulences and hardships and finally find ray of hope and survival when they land in a small island in Amsterdam.

The gigantic wave that hit Wave walker on January 2 at 6:00 PM was twice as big as other waves. It reached up to the top mast. It resulted in breaking the starboard and almost making the ship sink.

All communication got lost and the family lost hope of survival.

Answer:

The wave that hit the ship was so massive that the narrator had initially mistaken it to be a cloud. It seemed to be vertical and twice the height of the other waves, breaking upon the ship with immense force. The roar of the ship was akin to the sound of thunder and it crashed into the ship with a loud explosion. The impact of the wave on the ship was such that the green and white water broke over the ship as a result of which the narrator's head smashed into the wheel and he was thrown overboard, sinking below the waves. The narrator felt that his death was imminent and he saw that his boat was going to capsize with her masts horizontal and it was flooded with water. The impact of the waves on the narrator had nearly led him to believe that he was dying and to accept that fact with composure. However, the thought of his family pulls him back and he fights really hard to row them to safety. Faced with the prospect of his imminent death, the narrator came close to giving up and accepting death which seemed inevitable to him at that point. As his head smashed into the wheel, he became aware of his approaching death and realized that he was losing consciousness. But he did not struggle to overcome this feeling, instead he began to give in and accept it quite peacefully until realization struck him that his family was still in danger. This seemed to bring him back from the edge.
