The Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large arid region in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent that covers an area of 200,000 km2 (77,000 sq mi) and forms a natural boundary between India and Pakistan.

2. it is located partly in rajasthan state, northwestern india, and partly in punjab and sindh provinces, eastern pakistan.
3. it is covered with sand dunes and has scanty vegetation.
4. the temperature is so hot in day and at night it goes below 10 degree celcius.
