In the Earth atmosphere green house gases (like Carbon dioxide gas ) are present. These gases absorbs the heat and radiate it in all direction. This increases the temperature on the earth making it very hot. This is called as green house effect. Green house effect can be seen in nurseries(where plants are grown) and if you park a vehicle whose all windshields are closed outside in a hot sunny day , if you sit in the vehicle after sometime you can feel green house effect.

Answer:

The greenhouse effect is the rise in the temperature of the Earth due to increased concentration of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor in the atmosphere. As these gases trap solar radiations released back by the Earth. This helps in keeping our planet warm and thus, helps in human survival. However, an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases can lead to an increase in the Earth's temperature leading to global warming.
