Our ear is divided into three parts, outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.The outer ear is called pinna.Pinna collects sound from the surrondings and pass it to the auditory canal. At the end of the auditory canal there is a drum called ear drum. This drum vibrates and these vibrations are amplified by three bones in the inner ear.It then passes the amplified vibrations into inner ear where it is converted into electrical signals by cochlea. These signals are then sent to brain via auditory nerve.

Sound funnels into the ear canal and causes the eardrum to move. Sound vibrations move through the ossicles to the cochlea. Sound vibrations cause the fluid in the cochlea to move. The auditory nerve sends signals to the brain where they are interpreted as sounds.
