Uncle Khosrove was considered in the Garoghlanian tribe as one of the craziest persons. It was also believed that the tribe that Mourad was the natural descendant of the crazy streak in their tribe. Uncle Khosrove’s craziness was out of the world. He had the largest moustache in the surrounding. His talk was not less than roaring, which was but natural for him. Once when his son came running to tell him about his house on fire, he simply said, ‘It is no harm; pay no attention to it’.

Answer :

This question is based on the short story 'The Summer Of The Beautiful White Horse' by William Saroyan.

One incident from the story that proves that Uncle Khosrove was a funny character possessing a crazy streak is Uncle Khosrove and John Byro's meeting at Aram's house. This incident took place as follows :

One day John Byro visited Aram's house to inform his mother that his white horse had gone missing more than a month ago. He was very sad about the loss. Uncle Khosrove, who was also present at Aram's house at that moment, refused to show any sympathy or concern for his loss and shouted in his irritable and impatient tone “It’s no harm. What is the loss of a horse? What is this crying over a horse?” He kept on repeating his usual response to all problems “Pay no attention to it” on every sentence said by Byro.

The rude behaviour exhibited by Uncle Khosrove made John Byro react by commenting the price he had to pay for the white horse. This remark further angered Uncle Khosrove who retaliated back : “I spit on money.” John Byro did not have the patience to tolerate it any further and so he stormed out of the house, banging the door in sheer disgust.
