Tricki was become too much fat because of so much care and eating. Actually, Mrs Pumphrey give him lots of dishes to eat so that he has became ill due to over eating but Mrs Pumphrey thought that it was because of weakness so she started giving more foods to him.
He has became so fat that he couldn't even go for a walk all time he was on his rug and panting. One day the Vet. Doctor, James Herriot came to examine the dog and he found that he should be given proper exercise. So he took Tricki with himself to the Surgery. There at Surgery he gave no food to Tricki for two days but plenty of water. On the third day he saw that Tricki was licking supper bowl of all other dogs. So next day he gave Tricki his own bowl but Tricki has to run for the food.
After a fortnight Tricki was recovered and Mr. Herriot called Mrs Pumphrey to take back Tricki home. When Mrs Pumphrey arrived she saw that Tricki was transformed into a hard muscle animal and when Tricki saw his mistress he jumped into her lap and started licking her face. Then tears came from the eyes of Mrs Pumphrey, then she said that it was 'A Triumph Of Surgery'.
