2) Most of them now live in the semi-arid grasslands or arid deserts where rainfed agriculture is difficult.

3) They raise cattle, camels, goats, sheep, and donkeys; and they sell milk, meat, animal skin, and wool.

4) In pre-colonial times Maasai society was divided into two social categories: elders and worriors. The elders formed the ruling group and met in periodic councils to decide on the affairs of the community and settle disputes. The worriors consisted of younger people, mainly responsible for the protection of the tribe. They defented the community and organised cattle raids.

5) These communities suffered after colonisation of Africa because the colonial government imposed various restrictions on their mobility.

Answer:

Their main occupation is selling milk, meat, animal skin and wool. They also earn through trade and transport, some types of agricultural activities and also variety of odd jobs. By doing all these jobs, the pastoralists are trying to supplement their meagre and uncertain earnings from pastoralism.
