Gandhara art show synthesis of both local and Indian elements under the influence of Buddhism. Indian crafts man came in contact with the central Asian,Greeks and Romans in the north western frontier of India in gandhara. This gave rise to a new kind of art called as gandhara art.
During same period Amravati art flourished in the south of vindhyas in Andhara Pradesh. Amravati became a great centre of Buddhist art and the story connected with Buddha.
