'Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan' is a major program of the Government of India, which was started by Atal Bihari Vajpayee to achieve the universalization of primary education in the manner of a fixed period of time, as directed by the 86th Amendment of the Indian Constitution, Under the provision of free and compulsory education of 6-14 year old children (estimated 205 million in 2001), the fundamental rights have been made. The objective of this program is to achieve universalization of satisfactory quality primary education by 2010.
