:-the non directional movement of a plant part in response to the touch of an object is called thigmonasty.
:- thigmonasty means touch which is provided by the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica).
:- it is also known as touch me not plant.
:- the sensitive plant has pad like swelling called pulvini at the base of each leave the folding up of the leaf of a sensitive plant on touching is due to the sudden loss of water from the bed like swelling called "pulvini"
present at the base of all these of the sensitive plant which makes the "pulvini" lose the firmness causing the leave to drop and fall.
