The motion of the particles of liquid is slightly slippery and is fluid. It is because of the kinetic energy of the liquid particles which is more than solids and less than gas particles.

The particles in a solid are tightly packed and locked in place. ... Theparticles in a liquid are close together (touching) but they are able to move/slide/flow past each other
