Din i illahi contains the best principles of all religions which was founded by Akbar and Birbal was the person to adopt it but it failed to attract more people.

Akbar not only tolerated religion other than Islam, he encouraged interfaith discussion and debate. After listening to many religious he decided a new religion which he called Din - I - Ilahi and encouraged his subjects to follow it. This religion promoted many universal values such as compassion and piety. It forbade killing of animals.

The official amount of the divine is given by Abul Fazal in Ain - I - Akbari. Din - I - Ilahi or divine monotheism had no temple or mosque, no scripts or religious books. It was also called the religion of 'God'.
