The old tiger was quite weak. It could even be checked by the children and the children were not afraid of it as mentioned in the story. Also it could not walk properly neither it could hunt for a prey . It was too old to run too . And it was very old which has been told in the story that when Mrs paclkletide tried to shoot the tiger she shot the goat instead and the tiger died due to a heart attack caused by the sound of the rifle during shooting
