there were many reasons for the outburst of the war
1. there was a rumour that the cartilages used by the army was smeared with pig fat and cow fat and was known as royal Enfield .cowas were scared to Hindus and pig was prohibited for Muslims this was one reason
2. court favoured the English and English was the language of the court
3. the soldiers did not have status and salary and post as big as the British soldiers did
4. due to zamindari system the farmers were exploited and land tax collection rights awarded to the talukdars were removed
5. the last reason was that Dalhousie abolished the kingship of tanjavore and Carnatic nawabs
