when silver is exposed to sunlight there is a reaction taking place called photochemical reaction....

Photo decomposition reaction :- The decomposition reaction carried out by the light is called photo decomposition reaction.
e.g . 2Agcl(s)=2Ag(s)+Cl2..
Now see how it happens:
Place a small quantity of silver chloride taken in a glass container is kept under sunlight and leave it for some time .
The crystals slowly changes in grey colour.
it is only found that sunlight has caused the decomposition reaction of silver chloride to silver and chloride .
it separates the silver and chlorine.......
