‘Macavity: The Mystery Cat’, is a poem which describes how the mystery cat is. Cat’s appearance is described with proper figures of speech and rhyme. Macavity implies a criminal who has mastered all his courses of leaving no sign of evidence to the place.

The third stanza of the poem describes the physical appearance of the cat with, light reddish yellow color (golden mostly) and is very tall and thin in body. The poet also describes the cat having deep-set eyes with properly lined eyebrows as if the cat is in deep thought.

The cat in the poem is named, ‘The hidden paw’, as he does mischief and then leaves no sign of it. He gets a great escape from it.
