When ripe pollen from an anther of the same kind of flower catches on the stigma, each pollen grain sends out a tiny threadlike tube. The tube grows down through the style and pierces one of the ovules in the ovary. This process is called fertilization.

Process of fertilization in plants
Explanation:
- The procedure of association of male and female gametes is known as preparation. pollens (male gametes) are conveyed to the shame by means of various pollinators. After the dust arrives at the shame, pollen grows to create a pollen tube that conveys the sperm nuclei to the ovary. Two sperm nuclei are discharged in the ovule.
- One of the fuses with the female gamete (egg); accordingly, shaping the zygote. This procedure is known as syngamy. The other one wires with two polar cores and results in the arrangement of the endosperm. Since two combinations are included, it is known as double fertilization
