Okay, here you go fellas, i talk about election process under

i)Eligibility Criteria

iiTerminology.

iiiElection process.

ivDocuments.

v)Types of Elections.

  • 1.Eligiblity Criteria

For Loksabha and Vidhansabha election the age required is 25 years.

For Rajya Sabha election it is 30 years.

You must be a citizen of India.

And you must have a voter ID.

2. Terminologies

Parliament , we can define it as a group of people who make rules and regulations. So Parliament House is a place where all these people sit together.

Now, there are 2 groups of people sits in Parliament House.

Group number 1 is Lok Sabha

Group number 2 is Rajya Sabha

Together members of Loksabha and Rajya Sabha make rules and regulations which is applied to all over India.

Loksabha + Rajya Sabha = Parliament House.

There is only one parliament house, which is situated in India's capital New Delhi.

This is our Parliament house.

What is Vidhan Sabha ?

Vidhan Sabha is also a group of people who make rules and regulations at state level which is applied to a particular state.

“No. of Vidhansabha = No. of States in India”

Now lets know about CONSTITUENCY, it is an area from where representatives of different party fight election. These areas have almost same population. There are 543 constituencies in India.

During Loksabha elections(Election for prime minister) we consider all of these constituency. But during Vidhansabha election(Chief Minister Election) we consider constituency of a particular state

Different state have different numbers of constituencies depending on the population of that state.

Each constituency is divided into different areas For e.g In Durg there is Mohan Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Bhilai…it is in these areas where we go to Vote in polling booths.

ELECTION PROCESS

First i have to join a party of my choice

Then I have to gain some popularity through some goooood work.

Before the election, there's s candidate selection process in which political parties and there member select the representative to fight form a particular area. This access to fight election from any area is often called as PARTY TICKET.

After that representative fills the NOMINATION FORMS and other forms as required.

After filling these forms representative visits to RETURNING OFFICER who verifies the forms and make it public.

After it, there's a PARTY CAMPAIGN during which every party promotes it and advertise.

After party campaign, there's a Polling Day, on this day we go to Vote in polling booths.

Polling day is followed by Declaration of Results.

After this, there is submission of all over cost of advertisment on election.

Documents required :

Nomination Form 2A is required for LokSabha elections.

Nomination Form 2B is required for VidhanSabha elections.

Nomination Form A and Form B in which leader of political party mentions that *you are allowed to fight election from a particular constituency.

Form 26 and Some affidavits is also required where you mention about your Assests and Liabilities and many more.

Types Of Election

Here we talk about only 3 elections

VidhanSabha

LokSabha

RajyaSabha

VidhanSabha

VidhanSabha is state election, in which we select the Chief minister. Its happens over a period of 5 years.

How it happens ??

Well, to win an election every party needs to win election from more than 50% of Constituencies, the members of winning party from different constituencies goes to Vidhansabha and called as MLA(Member Of Legislative Assembly). So technically winner party has many no. of MLA and these different MLA choose their leader from within themselves and the leader called as CHIEF MINISTER of that state.

Lok Sabha Election Or General Elections

These elections also conducted over a period of 5 year so that we can elect our prime minister. This election happens to all over India at the same time.

How it happens?

Same as Vidhan Sabha but the winner candidates of a party goes to Parliament house and called as MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT(MP). It is these members who select their leader which is called as Prime Minister

RAJYA SABHA ELECTION

Happens in every 2 years for 1/3rd members of RajyaSabha.

Total seat in RajyaSabha is 250 and but election only happens for 238 seats.

So for 238/3 = 79

For 79 Candidates Election happens in every 2 years.
