Reform movements among the Parsis, Muslims, Sikhs - shortcut Reforms in Islamic society began in the early 19th century. The two prominent leaders were Syed Ahmad and Shariatullah. Syed Ahmad founded the Transition Society in 1864 to translate English books on science and other subjects into Urdu.
