8:00 AM has the longest shadow

10:00 AM the shadow becomes shorter

12 NOON the shadow is shortest and may disappear because the shadow is formed just below the object.

2:00 PM the shadow is similar to the shadow in case of 10:00 AM but in the opposite direction.

Explanation:

When its morning in the early phase after the sunrise the sun is (in the east) not at a greater altitude and hence the angle formed is very low and the shadow formed is long at 08:00 AM.

At 10:00 AM the shadow formed is a bit shorter as the sun ascends in height and so the inclination increases and the shadow becomes shorter than before.

At the noon the sun is almost at the top of pole hence the shadow formed is shortest and may disappear due to its position just below the pole.

At 02:00 PM the sun is almost in the same inclination as at 10:00 AM but on the opposite side (west). So the shadow is on the opposite side and similar in size to that of the shadow at 10:00 AM.

Answer:

1. 2:00 PM the shadow is similar to the shadow in case of 10:00 AM but in the opposite direction.

2. 8:00 am and 2 pm. Shadows are longest in the early morning and late afternoon/early evening.

3. 12:00 noon, because the sun is above our head creating a short shadow.

4. Different lengths of shadows form at different times of the day.

5. It didn't stay at one place because you can clearly see the shadows are in different lengths.

6. You will see the differences of its length and what time it is the shortest and longest.

7. At 12:00 noon the shadow is the shortest because the ray of the sun is striking through our head. If the sun is in the slant position it is most likely making a long shadow.
