The society of Masai people was divided into two cultural groups (elders and warriors). The elder group formed the ruling organization, which was responsible for maintaining law and order and making decisions on activities of the community. On the other hand, the warrior group consisted of young people, was subject to the protection of society. Wealth was measured in the form of cattle. Therefore, cattle raiding became one of the important activities and the basis of becoming warriors.
