It was raining heavily ; the street lights had gone off. I was returning back from my friend's house. It was 7'o' clock in the evening.... quite dark......nobody was around......it was not until that I heard a very strange noise that i stopped. I looked behind. There was nobody, but the noise was still there. Yes, some human of course.....as if he's about to die. But where was he??......I felt I should run back home, my mother must be worried. But then, shall i not try to find out what's wrong??.....what if somebody needs my help??. My curiosity held me back. I moved in the direction of the sound, through the lonely boulevard and, oh ! ! A boy, not more than 20 years of age was sitting with his back against a tree trunk. His shirt was blood stained....It looked as if somebody had stabbed him on the chest. I was terrified. Should I be involved??..Should I run back home??....there's still time......I thought again. But, at the same time, I couldn't leave him dying there. I went up to him. I still had the first aid box that I had made for my biology project, in my bag. I pulled out the cotton balls, antiseptics and whatever was needed to make him feel better for the time being. He mumurred, " I don't have money, I don't have my phone, they snatched 'em away......please take me to the hospital. " I called the ambulance at once, the guy was taken to the hospital. I went to meet him in the hospital the next day. He said, " Thanks a lot. Those robbers took all my belongings away. I tried to stop them but they stabbed me in my chest and ran. It was because of you that I survived. Thank you ! " The doctors thanked me as well. The robbers were finally caught and the police officers rewarded me . My mother looked happy. She was proud of her son.
