The tribal people in India are known as Adivasi ,a modern Sanskrit word which carries the specific meaning of being the original inhabitants of a given region.
Tribal people live in well-demarcated geographical territory within a definite topography .As they are usually cut out from rest of the world, they are united and have consensus on thoughts and opinions of people which is why a they are headed by a chief
They have their own tribal language like Mizo people of Mizoram speaking the Mizo language
Common culture leads to a life of homogeneity among the tribals which is reflected in their language, food habits and dressing style like all Khasi (Meghalese tribe) males wear Jymphong or sarong and females wear Jainsem or Dhara along with crowns of silver or gold.
The largest and the most prominent tribal religion of India is that of the Santhal of Orissa. Tribal groups in the Himalayas were affected by both Hinduism and Buddhism in the late 20th century.
There is a totally different social structure for Adivasis.
They do not discriminate the people in their locality by caste or religion.
They practice a different kind of tribal religions that is totally different from Hinduism, Islam and Christianity.
They worship their ancestors, villages and nature.
