The structure of the feudal system was like a pyramid, where the king was at the apex (point at the top) and the villeins or peasants (common people) of the country were at the base. In between the two were several groups of people who were a vassal to those directly above meaning that they swore loyalty to them.

French soceity during monarchy rule was divided into 3 estates or classes

1st estate comprises the people who were engaged in religious activities which were known as priests or clergy

2nd estate comprises the people who had superior rank in society that is the nobles

3rd estate comprises peasents ,court officials,lawyers ,big businessman etc

These people were more educated than the two above estates
