human heart is muscular pumping organ.
it is conical in shape about the size of a tightened fist. it is found on the left side of thoracic cavity .
MEMBRANE : heart is covered by a tough double membrane called PERICARDIUM .
CHAMBERS:: HEART HAS FOUR CHAMBERS TWO AURICLES AND TWO VENTRICLES.
COMPOSITION : heart is composed of cardiac muscles .
AURICLES: AURICLES are small and thin walled ,separated from each other by an inter articular septum. they form the anterior portion of heart.
VENTRICLES: are larger, thick walled chambers, also separated by ventricular septum.
VALVES:
right atrium communicates with right ventricle through a valve called tricuspid valve.
left atrium opens into left ventricle through bicuspid valve.
the semilunar valve in pulmonary vein allows the deoxygenated blood to go to lungs and prevent its back flow.
