STRUCTURE OF MEGASPORE
The megaspore gets converted into the female gametophyte called the embryo sac by the process of megasporogenesis.
The female gametophyte has two synergids and a egg in the micropylar region.
In the centre, we can see two polar nuclei which are fused together and so known as central nucleus.
In the chalazal part, there consists three antipodal cells.
This is the structure of the megaspore.
MEGASPOROGENESIS
It can be defined as the process by which female gametophyte is formed from Megaspore Mother Cell.
