Which sources produce alternating current?

There are various powerplants which generates AC currents such as the Hydropower plants,Thermal power plants, Wind farms and Nuclear Power plants.This is because in all of the above cases rotating turbines generates the current by converting mechanical power to electrical power.

AC generators are also used for generation of alternating currents. They are devices which works on the principle of Electromagnetic induction.
