Dear Student,
β Structure of DNA molecule -
- DNA is double helical structure consisting polymer of nucleotides.
- Following type of bonds are involved in formation of DNA strand.
- Components of nucleotide are a phosphate group, a sugar group, a nitrogen base.
- Phosphate group - It's phosphorus atom bound to 4 oxygen atoms.
- Sugar group - This can be either ribose or deoxyribose sugar.
- Nitrogen base - This can be A, G, C, T.
- Two successive nucleotides are joined together by phosphodiester bonds.
- Two strands of DNA are held together by hydrogen bonding.
Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
