The ovary is primary female sex organ that produce female gamete and several steroid hormones. The ovaries are located each side of the lower abdomen .
The fig you are watching is showing growth of a primary oocyte stepwise into graffin follicle. The ovary is divided into two parts one the medullary region ( middle part) and cortical region ( peripheral part ) . After ovulation you can see the growth of corpus luteum . There are blood vessels passing in medullary region of ovary .
