The term scheduled tribes first appeared in constitution of india. article 366 defined scheduled tribes. such tribes or tribal communities are the deemed under Article 342 to be scheduled for the purpose of a constitution

After independence , there were some communities which was discriminated by the society . These communities are known as Scheduled tribe .
